Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently gave important instructions on propaganda, ideological, and cultural work, pointing out that this work concerns the Party's future and destiny, the country's long-term stability, and the nation's cohesion and centripetal force. It is an extremely important task. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee has made systematic plans and deployments for propaganda, ideological, and cultural work from a global and strategic perspective, promoting historic achievements in the cause of propaganda, ideology, and culture in the new era. The ideological field has undergone a comprehensive and fundamental transformation, and the cultural confidence of the entire Party and all ethnic groups across the country has significantly increased, with a more vigorous and spirited mental outlook.

Xi Jinping emphasized that in the new era and new journey, the world is undergoing unprecedented changes in a century, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered a critical period. Strategic opportunities and risks coexist. Propaganda, ideological, and cultural work faces new situations and tasks and must have new outlooks and new actions. We must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, focus on the primary political task of arming the whole Party and educating the people with the Party's innovative theory, and continue to promote cultural prosperity, build a strong cultural nation, and construct a modern civilization of the Chinese nation at the new historical starting point. We must strengthen cultural confidence, uphold openness and inclusiveness, adhere to integrity and innovation, strengthen the Party's leadership over propaganda, ideological, and cultural work, build a socialist ideology with strong cohesion and leadership, cultivate and practice socialist core values, enhance the power, guidance, influence, and credibility of news and public opinion, continue the Chinese cultural lineage, promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture, promote the prosperity of cultural undertakings and industries, strengthen international communication capabilities, and promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. We must fully stimulate the cultural innovation and creativity of the entire nation, continuously consolidate the common ideological foundation for the unity and struggle of the whole Party and all ethnic groups, and continuously enhance the country's cultural soft power and the influence of Chinese culture, providing a strong ideological guarantee, powerful spiritual strength, and favorable cultural conditions for comprehensively building a socialist modern country and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Xi Jinping stressed that Party committees (Party groups) at all levels must shoulder the major political responsibility of doing a good job in propaganda, ideological, and cultural work, ensuring that the Party Central Committee's decisions and deployments on cultural construction are implemented. Propaganda and cultural departments at all levels must strengthen political responsibility, be courageous in reform and innovation, be brave and skilled in struggle, and continuously open up new prospects for propaganda, ideological, and cultural work in the new era.

The National Conference on Propaganda, Ideology, and Cultural Work was held in Beijing from October 7 to 8. The meeting conveyed Xi Jinping's important instructions. Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Secretariat, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions are lofty, incisive, and profound, with strong political, ideological, and guiding significance. They point the way for further improving propaganda, ideological, and cultural work and must be deeply studied, understood, and resolutely implemented.

The meeting held that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the historic achievements in propaganda, ideological, and cultural work fundamentally stem from the leadership and guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. General Secretary Xi Jinping's new ideas, new viewpoints, and new judgments on cultural construction in the new era are rich in connotation and profoundly argued. They are a theoretical summary of the Party's practical experience in leading cultural construction in the new era, enrich and develop Marxist cultural theory, constitute the cultural chapter of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and form Xi Jinping's cultural thought.

The meeting proposed that Xi Jinping's cultural thought not only innovates and breaks through cultural theoretical viewpoints but also sets deployment requirements for cultural work layout. It is clear in theory and practice, clarifying the roadmap and task book for cultural construction in the new era. It marks a new height in the Party's understanding of the laws of socialist cultural construction with Chinese characteristics, demonstrates the Party's historical confidence and cultural confidence reaching new heights, and shows strong power in China's socialist cultural construction. It provides a powerful ideological weapon and scientific action guide for doing well in propaganda, ideological, and cultural work in the new era and new journey and undertaking new cultural missions. Xi Jinping's cultural thought is an unfolding, open ideological system that will continue to be enriched and developed with deepening practice. We must deeply understand the decisive significance of the "Two Establishes," strengthen the "Four Consciousnesses," firm the "Four Confidences," achieve the "Two Upholds," continuously strengthen the study, research, and interpretation of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, and consciously implement it in all aspects and throughout the whole process of propaganda, ideological, and cultural work.

The meeting emphasized the need to closely focus on studying and implementing Xi Jinping's cultural thought, implementing the strategic deployment on cultural construction from the 20th Party Congress, earnestly enhancing the sense of responsibility and mission for doing well in propaganda, ideological, and cultural work in the new era and new journey, and promoting the implementation and effectiveness of all tasks. We must persistently use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to unite and inspire, work hard on true learning, true understanding, true belief, and true application, and deepen internalization and transformation. We must consolidate and expand the mainstream ideological discourse of forging ahead in the new era, strengthen positive publicity with a focus on boosting confidence, and improve the ability to guide public opinion.
