On the morning of the 6th, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China. He emphasized that since the new era, the efforts to comprehensively and strictly govern the Party and the anti-corruption campaign have been unprecedented in scale and the results are evident. We must always maintain the persistent determination that the fight against corruption is a long-term journey, uphold strategic resolve and a high-pressure stance, advance without pause or retreat, and simultaneously promote the principles of not daring to be corrupt, not being able to be corrupt, and not wanting to be corrupt, resolutely winning this tough, protracted, and overall battle.

Xi Jinping pointed out that in 2024, the Party Central Committee will adhere to leading social revolution through the Party's self-revolution, consistently advancing comprehensive and strict Party governance, achieving new progress and results. The entire Party has become more clear-headed and resolute in action regarding the major issue of self-revolution; solidly carried out Party discipline learning and education, significantly enhancing the awareness of compliance and discipline among all Party members; continuously intensified anti-corruption efforts, eradicating the soil and conditions that breed corruption; deeply carried out concentrated rectification of unhealthy practices and corruption issues close to the masses, solving a large number of prominent problems strongly reflected by the people; deepened institutional and rule-based Party governance, further improving the Party's ability to lead the anti-corruption struggle and promote comprehensive and strict Party governance.
Xi Jinping emphasized that corruption is the greatest threat facing our Party, and anti-corruption is the most thorough self-revolution. Entering the new era, facing prominent issues in Party conduct, clean governance, and the anti-corruption struggle within the Party, we insist on punishing corruption wherever it exists and rooting out all forms of graft, continuously purifying the cadre team, safeguarding the Party's image, consolidating the red base, winning the historical initiative to ensure the Party does not degenerate, change color, or lose its character, and winning the historical initiative for the Party to unite and lead all the people in the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation.
Xi Jinping pointed out that the current situation of the anti-corruption struggle remains severe and complex. The stock of corruption has not yet been eliminated, new cases continue to occur, and the task of eradicating the soil and conditions that breed corruption remains arduous and heavy. Understanding the anti-corruption struggle must be done with a historical perspective and strategic height, focusing on fulfilling the Party's mission and tasks. The anti-corruption struggle must be unwavering; any hesitation, slackening, or giving up halfway will result in subversive mistakes. We must resolutely clarify all erroneous views, dispel ideological confusion, and further strengthen determination and confidence in the anti-corruption struggle.
