Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese nation has a long-standing excellent traditional culture, with an open and inclusive cultural mindset since ancient times, embracing diversity. Chinese civilization has always valued mutual understanding and respect among different civilizations. Beijing, with its long history and rich cultural heritage, is a strong testament to the continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness, and peaceful nature of Chinese civilization. China will better leverage Beijing's advantages as a historic capital and national cultural center, strengthen cultural exchanges with regions around the world, jointly promote cultural prosperity and development, cultural heritage protection, and civilizational exchanges and mutual learning, practice the global civilization initiative, and inject profound and lasting cultural strength into building a community with a shared future for mankind.
The 2023 Beijing Cultural Forum, themed "Inheriting Excellent Culture and Promoting Exchange and Cooperation," was jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Beijing Municipal Committee, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, and opened in Beijing on the same day.
